Arrival Information
You can reach the hotel by taxi (approx. $15) or by special bus (number
222) from the airport terminal to the hotels (approx. $4). It leaves on
the hour 6am - midnight from the front of the terminal building. Ask the
bus driver to announce your hotel.
Proceedings
We intend to publish proceedings of the symposium. If you are presenting
a talk you are asked to prepare a written version. If your talk is a personal
memoir (first session) then the written version should be about one page
in length. For scientific talks, please observe a limit of 6 pages. We
would like to receive the papers by July 1st. More details will be given
during the symposium. Thank you.
Transportation to campus
Transportation to the Tel Aviv University campus, where the symposium will
be held, will be provided by buses from the hotels. If you want to come
on your own, we suggest you take a taxi, since there is no convenient public
bus between the university and the hotels.
Companion program
We would like to know about participation of companions so that we can
arrange for suitable programs. Please indicate this in the registration
form.
Weather
The weather in Israel during April is typical of spring. It can be
very pleasant (12-15 C at night, 20-25 C in the day) but there
is the possibility of a hamsin -- very dry and hot. Evenings may
be cool and there is some small probability of light rain.
Restaurants
There are many fish and typical Israeli restaurants a couple of blocks
north of the Grand Beach Hotel and a couple of blocks south along the beach
promenade. Also (by taxi) in the "Yemenite Vineyard" and in the tourist
quarter of Jaffa.
Sincerely,
Danny Ashery
